The BlackBerry 9670 is a flip or clamshell type smartphone which will have the BlackBerry 6 platform. A recent press release by a company in the US tipped that it should be available in the market sometime “later this year.” I’m honestly a bit baffled about this development since almost all phone manufacturers are moving away from clamshell type devices. It will be very interesting to see how the market will respond to the BlackBerry 9670. So far the only good thing I’m seeing from this is the BlackBerry 6 platform but that should be available with the BlackBerry Bold 9800.
