I currently have a review unit Research In Motion’s flagship handset, the BlackBerry Torch 9800. This was locally officially launched via a media briefing a few weeks ago but there’s no news yet on when the local carriers will actually offer them. There’s also no news yet on the prices. I’ll be writing a couple of articles about my experience with the BlackBerry Torch but for now here are some of the unboxing photos.

Came in a plain box because this was just a review/demo unit.
More photos after the break!

Ta-da! Beautiful. The design is classy, elegant, and powerful. Consistent with the BlackBerry brand.

Crisp colors. Not as good as the iPhone 4 Retina Display but still okay. Touch screen has multi-touch and they got rid of the SureTouch technology previously offered by the BlackBerry Storm.

Standard BlackBerry keyboard slides out. Feels perfectly balanced in your hand regardless if the keyboard is out or not.

Lock and Mute buttons at the top. The Lock button is a bit annoying since it’s so easy to accidentally press it.
Watch out for more blog entries in the coming days!
