BlackBerry PlayBook for Business (Video Demo)

RIM is pulling out all the stops in trying to build anticipation for their tablet. They’ve been aggressively marketing through social media (most noticeably Youtube) the past few months. A new video was recently uploaded and this time it shows how the BlackBerry PlayBook interacts with your BlackBerry smartphone. It looks like the two gadgets are really complimentary for one another. This will make the tablet choice easy for those who are BlackBerry owners. The experience is just seamless! Watch the video below for more details.

Say it with me: I LIKEEEYYYYY! :)

BlackBerry Messenger 6

One of the best features of Research In Motion’s BlackBerry is the BlackBerry Messenger. It’s a free and fun way to keep in touch with your friends who are also using BlackBerry smart phones. It even became more addictive when people found out how to use the group chat function. Anyway, RIM is going to ship a new version of BBM called BlackBerry Messenger 6 and they’re packing it with more features. Here’s the list which was reported by PocketBerry:

* The ability to play games and use your BBM user name as your gamer name.
* Cross chats between users over BBM (and it looks like you and the other parties playing don’t have to be on each other friends list).
* Also, when we complete tasks on these new games our status will change to show what task we completed (sounds like its similar to the “show what i am listening to tab” and will probably have an option to share with your BBM contacts or hide it from your contacts).
* It also seems like on BBM6, BBM groups will be able to handle more members.
* The new BBM6 will be supported on all devices running OS 5+ (at least for now).
* Looks like a mobile game developer company by the name of “Gamemachi” is working on game(s) for this new BBM6 platform.

This shows that RIM is really serious in getting more developers into their ecosystem. The integration of BBM to social gaming applications is a great free marketing tool for developers who want to push their apps to the BB community.

Anyway, there’s no official word yet on when this will come out. Some blogs are saying that it will probably launch together with the PlayBook.

BlackBerry PlayBook CES Participants’ Impressions

The BlackBerry PlayBook had a demo booth during the recently concluded CES 2011. Thousands of people were able to try the device out for the first time and most of them gave glowing reviews. Even popular tech blogs who were known to put down RIM had good things to say about RIM’s professional grade tablet. Here’s a video which shows the various comments and reactions of the CES 2011 crowd about the PlayBook.

Can’t wait to get my hands on one!

New BlackBerry PlayBook Ads (CES 2011)

PlayBook, PlayBook, PlayBook. That’s probably the only thing in the minds of BlackBerry fans all over the world. RIM said that they’re on track in releasing the gadget Q1 in the US. Maybe the Philippines will get it in Q2? Anyway, three new ads for the BlackBerry PlayBook were released during CES 2011. All of them hype up the key selling features of the PlayBook: multi-tasking, power, and portability. This indirectly hits Apple’s iPad since the PlayBook is supposed to be superior in all three areas. Check out the three ads below!
