BlackBerry Torch 9860

During the BlackBerry 7 Philippines Media Event, RIM also presented the BlackBerry Torch 9860 to the media, bloggers, and fans in attendance. The BlackBerry Torch 9860 is a full touchscreen phone that doesn’t have a slide-out keypad like the BlackBerry Torch 9800. It’s a pretty sleek phone that’s made for people who really prefer touchscreen over the BlackBerry QWERTY keypad experience.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 units in Greenhills

I went around the various gadget vendors in Greenhills this afternoon and I was surprised to see that there were a lot of BlackBerry Torch 9800 being sold (red, white, and black colors). There were several stalls in theater mall that offer it at just P27,000. The lowest that I found was P25,500 but when I came back and asked again the price went up to P26,500 and they “forgot” about the first price they offered, lol. Anyway, photo:

Globe BlackBerry Torch 9800 free with P3799 Postpaid Plan

I’ve been trying to find Globe’s official pricing on the BlackBerry Torch 9800 for their postpaid plans online. I found a promo page as well as the actual unit listed in the postpaid phone selection menu. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 comes “free” with the P3799 plan. You can opt to get Unlimited Surfing as your freebie if you go for the My Fully Loaded Plan. Screenshots below:

BlackBerry Torch 2 Leak

The BlackBerry Torch still isn’t being offered by the telecommunications companies here in the Philippines and we’re already getting details about the BlackBerry Torch 2! No new breakthrough features yet.
